. . . and they are within driving distance. But I already have a pair of 811A's. And the B's are loaded with JBL drivers. But they would still sound great. And would the wife understand (let alone approve)??? Let's see, how does that go - permission versus forgiveness? forums forums

Woofer section looks like PAS to me. Urei sourced duplexes from PAS for a time, i've seen them with both Radian and JBL HF sections in Urei monitors.

Eventually, they went with all JBL components, but there was a period of time where they went thru some different combinations.

The "story" as i remember it is that they(Urei) began receiving 604's with unacceptable QC issues and cancelled subsequent orders. Then used the PAS sourced duplex for a short time until they joined forces with JBL. This is parroting old word of mouth, so keep the salt box handy.

At any rate, you'll see the driver basket(in the ebay auction) is the same as a PAS or EV, even has the EV type magnet cover.

Here's a PAS duplex as vended to Renkus Heinz less the magnet cover.

Excellent catch Bowtie427ss! I did a bit more looking and found this thread:

As you pointed out, looks like PAS (Professional Audio Systems) CXL-1580 drivers. I was unaware of this bit of UREI history.

    Thank-you!
